X Accounts
Connect and manage your X (Twitter) accounts in replyboss.
The Accounts section is where you connect, manage, and configure your X (Twitter) accounts. replyboss supports multiple accounts depending on your plan.
Overview
The Accounts page shows:
- All connected X accounts
- Connection status for each account
- Quick actions to add or remove accounts
- Account-specific settings
Connecting X Accounts
First Account Setup
- Navigate to Accounts in the sidebar
- Click Connect X Account
- You'll be redirected to X for authorization
- Grant ReplyBoss access
- Return to ReplyBoss - your account is now connected
Adding More Accounts
Add additional accounts the same way:
- Click Connect X Account
- If logged into a different X account, it will connect that one
- To connect a specific account:
- Log out of X first
- Log into the account you want to connect
- Then authorize in replyboss
Account Limits by Plan

Switching Between Accounts
When using features like Engage, Follow, or Saved:
- Look for the account selector dropdown at the top
- Click to see all connected accounts
- Select the account you want to work with
- The page updates to show that account's data
Each account has its own:
- Saved handles
- Tags
- Engagement history
- AI settings
Account Settings
Click on any connected account to access its settings:
Profile Information
- View your X profile details
- See follower/following counts
- Check account status
Connection Status
- Connected - Account is working properly
- Needs Reauthorization - Token expired, reconnect required
- Error - Connection issue, try reconnecting
AI Settings (Per Account)
Customize AI behavior for each account:
- Voice/tone - Casual, professional, witty
- Custom prompts - Specific instructions for AI replies
- Topics - Areas of expertise to emphasize
Disconnecting Accounts
To remove an X account:
- Go to Accounts
- Find the account to disconnect
- Click Disconnect
- Confirm the action
Warning: Disconnecting removes all associated data:
- Saved handles for that account
- Tags and organization
- Engagement history
Permissions
replyboss requests these X permissions:
Read Access
- Tweets - View tweets to find engagement opportunities
- Profile - Display your account information
- Followers - Analyze follower lists
Write Access
- Tweet - Post replies you approve
- Follow - Follow accounts from the Follow feature
- Like - Like tweets (if feature enabled)
What We DON'T Do
- Never post without your approval
- Never DM on your behalf
- Never change your profile
- Never access your DMs
Team Access
On team plans, multiple team members can access connected accounts:
Permission Levels
- Owner - Full access, can connect/disconnect accounts
- Admin - Can use accounts, cannot disconnect
- Member - Can use accounts assigned to them
Assigning Accounts to Members
- Go to Settings > Members
- Click on a team member
- Select which X accounts they can access
- Save changes
Troubleshooting
Account Shows "Disconnected"
Your account may need reauthorization:
- Click Reconnect
- Authorize again on X
- Account should reconnect
Common causes:
- Changed X password
- Revoked app access on X
- X API changes
Can't Connect New Account
If you can't add accounts:
- Check your plan's account limit
- Ensure you're logged into the X account you want to add
- Try in an incognito window
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
Wrong Account Connected
If the wrong account connected:
- Disconnect it from replyboss
- Log out of X completely
- Log into the correct X account
- Return to replyboss and connect
Rate Limit Errors
If you see rate limit errors:
- Wait 15-30 minutes before retrying
- Reduce frequency of actions
- Contact support if persistent
